I am attorney John Terry Brown. At my Commerce law firm, Brown Law Office, LLC, I help clients throughout Northeast Georgia obtain fair child support payments based on an accurate assessment of both parents' income.
As your attorney, I will fight aggressively for you and your child's interests, defending your rights through every step of your case. Contact me to schedule a meeting to discuss your child support case. I handle cases in Commerce, Athens, Gainesville and the surrounding areas.
In Georgia, the majority of child support payments are determined by a complicated formula based on the income of both parents and the costs of child upbringing, including the cost of day care, insurance and any school-related expenses. In some cases, there can be an exception to this formula, such as when one of the parents does not work, or if one parent has a higher income than the formula covers.
As your Commerce attorney, my job is to help you obtain or pay fair support amounts by determining actual income and all the costs associated with the upbringing of the child. With my years of experience in this area of the law, I am skilled at finding all of the other party's income, not just that which is reported.
I represent either side in child support contempt cases, in which one party is accusing the other of non-payment of support. It is important to have an attorney to sort through all of the details, and, in some cases, work out a fair settlement for the back payment of support.
